As you can see Junior is mobile and moving when he isn't being obstinate and uncooperative. It is so good to see him like this although I'd prefer that he didn't need any of these machines to get him moving.
He's happiest when he's in his wheelie and he can go by pushing the wheels. Not to good with getting it to go anywhere except in circles, but the kids here are willing to help him out with that. It's amazing how they are so helpful and protective of him.
He loves to be outdoors in the parking lot with the kids, trying to wheel after them and play their games.
When he's indoors he watches TV and seems to be really into commercials. Thomas the Tank Engine is a favorite. Some days I think I'm going crazy trying to get that theme song out of my head. He loves to sing those songs in the videos and believe me he knows them all!!!!
Still, when I remember him with all those tubes and being only 29 weeks at birth I can put up with those annoying songs and videos because I am glad that he is still here.
He'll tell you he was born at 29 weeks and has cerebral palsy too. Amazing for a 3 year old to be able to tell you why he is the way he is.
I hope that I have a good many years to watch him grow up and see what he does with his life. I know that whatever it is it will be wonderful and rewarding to him.
He is a favorite wherever he goes. His smile will light up the day and his laughter will make you laugh too. You can't be unhappy or angry with Mr. Sunshine around. He makes that impossible everyday.
I often wonder why he has to be like this, but when I see the way he touches people's lives and their reactions to him I think that maybe he's an angel from heaven and has a special purpose for being that way.
He's had so much to overcome and everyday he gets stronger and progresses more with his disabilities. He is a beacon of hope for others to see and know that if they keep trying they can overcome theirs too. No matter where he goes everyone has to hold him and talk to him. And it's a good thing too because Mr. Sunshine refuses to be ignored. I am sure that whatever his future holds he will rise up and meet any challenges that life has in store for him.
